Context and method
Comparing Luciferianism and Satanism requires identifying the authors or communities involved. Lucifer, Satan, knowledge and freedom may have different meanings across texts. External definitions do not replace each current’s self-description.
How to study and use it
Compare four fields: central figure, understanding of divinity, ethics and described practices. Use identifiable documents and record their dates. The article comparing the currents provides a further reading path.
Important distinctions
A tattoo, seal or profile name does not establish an individual’s beliefs. When studying symbols such as Lucifer’s sigil, identify the work and edition in which they appear. The Lucifer app gathers thematic study material and references.
