Kabbalah and Hermetic Qabalah: understanding the context
Kabbalah refers to Jewish mystical traditions with their own texts, concepts and approaches to study. Christian and Hermetic adaptations reinterpret parts of that repertoire within other systems. This distinction matters when reading a Tree of Life or correspondence chart.

Context and method
Spellings such as Kabbalah, Cabala and Qabalah can reflect editorial conventions, but spelling alone does not identify the context. Check the writer, community, language and work. The sefirot cannot be reduced to one universal list of colours or planets.
How to study and use it
Choose a concept and follow its definition in an identified source. For gematria, record the alphabet and numerical values used. Calculations from different systems cannot be compared as though they followed one rule.
Important distinctions
Hermetic correspondences do not automatically represent Jewish teaching. The Gematria app makes calculation rules visible; religious or philosophical interpretation requires a different layer of study and sources.
