Candle colour meanings and traditions
Candle colours receive meanings in devotional and magical practices. White, red or blue do not have one identical interpretation across all traditions. A useful chart identifies the system behind its associations.

Context and method
A colour may be connected with a religious figure, planet, intention or calendar. Different charts may follow different conventions. Identify their sources before combining correspondences.
How to study and use it
Keep a record of colour, association, tradition and source. If observing a candle, note its wax, wick and surroundings too: flame behaviour has physical causes and does not establish a spiritual interpretation by itself.
Important distinctions
There is no universal reading for wax remains or a tall flame. A candle is also a source of heat and fire. Symbolic study should distinguish a ritual interpretation from the object’s material conditions.
